The WiFi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, and SD Association have quietly added Huawei in its network once again. These three networks are important for any smartphone brand as they offer validation allows companies to use technologies like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microSD card respectively. Google recently suspended its Android business license with Huawei and restricted the Chinese OEM to just Android Open Source Project with no support for popular Google apps following an order by the Trump administration. Major chip makers and other firms were also forced to cut ties with Huawei soon after including WiFi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, and the SD Association.

As far as the Android ban is concerned, future Huawei phones might be launched with Huawei’s own operating system as the existing ones might no longer receive Android updates. Huawei has promised to provide security updates for both Huawei and Honor phones but there is no word from Google as to whether it will roll out any Android update or not. Having said that Google has confirmed that it will provide security updates.
